Kato Mivule November 4, 2008 Many Christians are caught up in guilt and condemned by their leaders because they did not vote or if they did, they did vote for a wrong candidate unfavorable to the Pastor. Other believers think that they can manipulate God into choosing a “Christian” leader of their choice. Other believers forget that The Lord has the final say when it comes to the Kings of the earth – the Presidents and Rulers of this world…for He rises up one and puts another down…
The Lord Raises Whomever He wills to Rule Nations… Daniel 4:17 (17) This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men. Jesus Christ is Prince (Rules) over the Kings (Presidents) of the Earth… Revelation 1:5 (5) And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, The Lord will fulfill His purposes through any leader He chooses regardless if those leaders claim to be Christian or not. The Lord will even raise none Christian leaders and those who don’t know Him to be a blessing to His people. Many folks ask if God would vote….First and foremost, the notion that God would vote would be to reduce The Lord to Human status and its fallible system. God will not vote for any candidate because HE IS GOD and does not need to vote. The Lord knows the hearts of men and sees History before we do – He sees the future ahead of time…Voting is a human system subject to human failures, vices, and corruption. However, in His Sovereignty, The Lord can allow a leader of His choosing and purposes for that time and period to be chosen through the ‘Human’ Election Voting System. We remember the story of Israel and how they cried to The Lord for a King so that they could be like other nations. The Lord granted their request and the King – King Saul ended up imposing heavy Taxes on the Israelites and also did not totally fear The Lord. 1 Samuel 8:19-22 (19) Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; (20) That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles. (21) And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD. (22) And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city. Almost 70 Percent of the Kings of Israel were a burden upon the people of Israel and never feared The Lord, they worshiped idols and committed and evil…as we read in 1 Kings and 2 Kings… 2 Kings 23:35-37 (35) And Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, of every one according to his taxation, to give it unto Pharaoh Necho. (36) Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zebudah, the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah. (37) And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done. In Egypt, Pharaoh welcomed Joseph to be his Prime Minister and in charge of food distribution (‘He wants to Spread the Wealth around’, ‘He is a Socialist’, and ‘Distributor in Chief’, terms sound familiar????) during the famine that Egypt (Global Economic Crisis???) experienced for seven years. Genesis 41:37-44 (37) And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants. (38) And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? (39) And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath showed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: (40) Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. (41) And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. (42) And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; (43) And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. (44) And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt. Genesis 41:46-49 (46) And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt. (47) And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls. (48) And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same. (49) And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number. Genesis 41:53-57 (53) And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended. (54) And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread. (55) And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do. (56) And the famine was over all the face of the earth: And Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt. (57) And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands. Pharaoh also welcomed Joseph’s family and he gave them Goshen, one of the most fertile places in Egypt to settle… Now we see that The Lord was working through Pharaoh who did not worship the God of Israel to be a blessing to the people of God! Today US Evangelical Political Christians would fight tooth and nail to turn Pharaoh into a “Christian Pharaoh”…or campaign hard and send nasty hateful emails to have a “Christian Pharaoh” succeed the throne… Genesis 45:16-21 (16) And the fame thereof was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, Joseph's brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants. (17) And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan; (18) And take your father and your households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land. (19) Now thou art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come. (20) Also regard not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours. (21) And the children of Israel did so: and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way. Yet, after Joseph’s death God raised up a Pharaoh who did not know Joseph and this new Pharaoh placed the people of God under bondage and slavery. Even yet The Lord Himself states that He hardened Pharaoh’s heart so that He could show His power – His Redemptive power. The Lord is sovereign and did show His power by judging Egypt and delivering His people out of Egypt without a human hand… Exodus 1:8-12 (8) Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. (9) And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we: (10) Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land. (11) Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Rameses. (12) But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel. In both cases the Pharaohs were not converted Jews and were not “Christian”. However, the Lord used them to bless His people; one did so willingly, the other unwillingly… We see that The Children of Israel sinned against The Lord and The Lord used the King of Babylon to chastise His people by taking them to slavery in Babylon. However, The Lord told His people to be subject to the King of Babylon and he would bless them there. The Lord did so and blessed them in Babylon. We see Daniel and his three friends elevated to the top offices in the land… The Lord later touched King Nebuchadnezzar, who in his later years gave God the glory and turned and worship The God of Israel… Jeremiah 38:2-3 (2) Thus saith the LORD, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live. (3) Thus saith the LORD, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which shall take it. Jeremiah 38:17-18 (17) Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon's princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house: (18) But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand. So, The Lord is sovereign and does not work to accomplish His purposes in the confines of a so-called “Christian President”…. As a matter of fact, The Lord uses kings who are none “Christian” or those who are not Israelites to be a blessing to His people… We remember Cyrus, after the 70 years in captivity in Babylon, The Lord raised up Cyrus, a great emperor who did not know The Lord to be a blessing to the people of God. Cyrus made the first degree to free the people of God from captivity in Babylon. Isaiah 45:1-3 (1) Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; (2) I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: (3) And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. Later on Ezra and Nehemiah record in their chronicles how the other successive Persian Kings were a blessing to the Jews in letting them return to their homeland in Israel. Ezra 1:1-4 (1) Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, (2) Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. (3) Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem. (4) And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem. The Lord will raise leaders both who fear Him and those who don’t in order to deal with His people. Whenever His people sin and commit evil in departing from Him, The Lord will raise a ruler for chastisement to His people and at the same time blesses those who humble themselves during the chastisement like in the case of King Nebuchadnezzar. In these last days according to the New Testament The Lord is going to raise a Global Leader – The Antichrist (Barack Obama is not the Antichrist, don’t listen to lies and misinformation) who will persecute God’s people and many will be purified and return to The Lord during that Tribulation time. Daniel 7:24-25 (24) And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. (25) And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Revelation 13:4-7 (4) And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? (5) And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. (6) And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. (7) And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. So, brethren, I could go on and on, however, just humble your selves when it comes to this US election and pray that The Lord will do His will rather than fight against the arm of The Lord. Don’t waste your time on funny false prophesies from so-called prophets telling you how evil is going to come on America because a certain none Christian candidate became president….disregard such emails and rumors… Rather seek The Lord’s will because He is more interested in dealing with your heart than having a “Christian President”…and it might be that he is raising a “None Christian President” so as to deal with the rebellion and stubbornness of your heart. The Lord is sovereign and He reigns over the Kings of the earth. He will raise up one and put down another… He will use even any to accomplish His divine purposes… Kato Mivule
