Jude does a very good job at exposing false teachers and liars inside the Church. It must be noted here that Jude writes to the saints clearly telling them that false teachers have crept into the church and Christians ought to take a stand for their True Faith in Christ Jesus…
Jude uses the term “Contend Earnestly”…in other words Christians must constantly be on the guard against false teachings and false preachers. Jesus Christ clearly warned that we must watch out for the false preachers and teachers who are wolves in sheep’s clothing.
For those Christians in Uganda’s Evangelical Church where famous preachers are being exposed in the press for Sodomy, Heresy, Extortion, Greed and many other vices, the Letter of Jude provides clues to help us discern the false preachers and teachers inside the Church.
Many of these false preachers use fear and fear mongering to control and manipulate their subjects into false submissions to their false authorities. A preacher or teacher who is in contradiction and rebellion against the word of God is not in submission to The Lord…
Christians are clearly called to ‘contend earnestly’ for the faith…
Jude 1:3
(3) Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
There are False Preachers and Teachers inside the Church…
Jude 1:4
(4) For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
- The False Preachers and Teachers Creep in by Stealth…they crept in undercover…
- They are ungodly men…wolves in sheep’s skin…on the outside they look godly but are not…
- They turn the Grace of God into lasciviousness… they are sexually sensual; no wonder the many charges of Sodomy today against some famous Ugandan evangelical preachers…
- They deny the Lordship of Jesus Christ…though they outwardly pretend to submit to The Lordship of Jesus Christ, they reject it…
Jude 1:5-7
(5) I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
(6) And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
(7) Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
- These are preachers who have not kept their first estate…they kept not their first love and walk with Jesus Christ… This scripture pours cold water on the false teaching of “Eternal Security” also known as the “Once Saved Always Saved” teachings… Some of these preachers once knew The Lord and walked with Him but have decided to turn their backs on the ways of The Lord…
- Who have gone the way of Sodom and Gomorrah…? Is it not amazing that many famous prosperity gospel preachers in Uganda are turning towards Sodomy and Sodomy is now a major cause of scandals in Uganda’s Evangelical Church?
Jude 1:8-10
(8) Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
(9) Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
(10) But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
- They are filthy dreamers… They dream only about pleasing self and the flesh…
- They defile the flesh… They engage in acts that defile the flesh like Sodomy…
- They Despise Authority… Many of these false preachers use this verse to support themselves and force people into False Submissions but the scripture speaks about the false preachers themselves… They despise godly Authority… They despise those true leaders who are accountable to The Whole Counsel of God’s Word… They despise Leaders who call them to accountability to Sound Bible Doctrine… They despise those leaders who courageously expose their false teachings and evils…
- They engage in false spiritual warfare… Many of these false preachers and teachers engage in false teaching of ‘claiming’ cities and nations for themselves and “overthrowing” principalities and rulers of darkness… with no scriptures to support such claims…
- They speak evil of things they know not…
- They are brute beasts…
Jude 1:11
(11) Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah.
- They have gone after the way of Cain… Cain killed his brother Abel because of his (Cain’s) rebellion towards The Lord and envious of his brother’s obedience to The Lord… Cain was a hater and a murderer; these false preachers always persecute and seek to destroy those who stand for Obedience towards The Lord…
- They ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward… Balaam was a Prophet for Profit… Balaam prophesied for money and charged money for the ‘gospel’ he preached… Is it not amazing that in Uganda’s Evangelical Church today, famous preachers recently charged up to 50 Dollars (almost half of some people’s salary in Uganda) for a ‘Healing Fellowship? The whole Prosperity Gospel Movement is a movement of Balaam – Preachers who preach for money and riches and thus causing many to sin against The Lord by loving the world and the things of the world…
- They perish in the gainsaying of Korah… Those who died in the Rebellion of Korah were Children of Israel who rebelled not just against Moses but against God’s Word through Moses. Today we do not have Moses, we have Jesus Christ and these false preachers are in rebellion against the Teachings, Sayings, and Doctrine of Jesus Christ… They too will perish like the gainsayers of Korah unless they repent…
Jude 1:12-13
(12) These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
(13) Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
- They are spots in your feasts of charity… These false preachers are poisoning in your Church gatherings…
- They feed themselves without fear… They care only for their own welfare…it is always about them and how more rich and wealthy they can become…
- They are Clouds without water… They are empty shells…
- They are carried about of winds… They are carried by every wind of false doctrine…
- Trees without Fruit…
- They are twice dead…
- They have no root…
- They are raging waves…foaming out of their own shame…
- They are wandering stars…to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever…
Jude 1:14-15
(14) And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
(15) To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
- They are ungodly and practice ungodly deeds… Remember they always appear as “Powerful Men of God” but are simply wolves in sheep’s skin…
- Judgment awaits them… Remember in the Book of Revelation The Lord judges the False Prophet and Antichrist… When The Lord returns, He will judge and these ungodly preachers together with the Antichrist and False prophet…since such false preachers operate with an Antichrist and False Prophet Spirit…
Jude 1:16
(16) These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
- They are Murmurers… They never have enough, every time when they preach, they complain of their ‘current level’ and always want to move to the so-called “next level”…
- They are complainers… They are never grateful and thankful even for suffering for Christ Jesus… They see suffering for Christ as a ‘Curse’ rather than a blessing…
- They walk after their own lusts…
- They speak great swelling words…pompous, show-off, flashy…
- They take advantage of men – Manipulative… They seek to control the minds of those who follow them so as to gain advantage usually for the sake for money and power…
Jude 1:17-19
(17) But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
(18) How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
(19) These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
- They are mockers…they mock the Teachings and Sayings of Jesus Christ…
- They are Sensual… Their teachings always seek to gratify the flesh especially through materialism…
- They have not the Spirit… Many Christians take these False Preachers lightly but Jude clears writes that such preachers have not The Spirit, they have not the anointing… If they don’t have the Spirit of God, then they operate under another spirit, a false spirit and a spirit of the Antichrist.
What should Christians do?
Flee such Preachers and their Churches… Seek to Fellowship with Christians and Christians Leaders who are given to Sound Doctrine and the Teachings and Sayings of Jesus Christ. Flee Sensual Preachers especially in the Prosperity Gospel Camp who promise you prosperity, materialism, and a so-called better life here on earth…
